Want to see the fastest, most powerful motorcycles in the world?

MotoGP is where you need to be!

The Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship predates Formula 1 and has a history to match any sport in the world. On the June 17th 1949 the first 500cc Grand Prix was held on the Isle of Man and ever since then the world has watched on to see who’s the best.

With almost 900 races on the clock, the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez will be the 900th, we have witnessed some of the most intense rivalries in sport play out on a race track. The brutality of the premier class has always been savage, but for 2020 the battle looks set to be closer than ever.

With six manufacturers on the grid and 13 world champions this season looks set to be a classic. With stable regulations, the field has gotten closer and closer and suddenly one second separating the majority of the field has become the norm. If you want to stand out in this era you need to be something special.

Marc Marquez has that level of talent. The Spaniard has rewritten the record book throughout his career and continues to astound. With eight world titles and 82 wins, the 27 year old has already established himself as a legend of the sport. He stands just eight wins behind Angel Nieto in his bid to become Spain’s most successful racer. His sights though are set higher than that, with Marquez keen to leave no-one in doubt as to his prodigious ability.

He revolutionised the riding style of a MotoGP rider when he stepped up to the premier class in 2013, and it took until last year for any rider to consistently stand up to him. Fabio Quartararo was the rider to do that most in 2019, but for this year the Frenchman will be under huge pressure to prove that he can do more than fight with Marquez; he has to beat him now. Can he do so? It remains to be seen but it’s certainly going to make their battles a must watch in 2020.
